i-shift for the new Jazz

So the new Jazz is also getting the i-shift transmission in place of its previous CVT-7 automatic.

Road Tests: Honda New Jazz Road Test

Presumably this new 1.4 vtec i-shift combination is destined for the Civic?

Sorry to disagree as my May 07 I-shift is superb. I suggest you go for a test drive in a new one with the latest software and then tell us what you think.

So take it to your Dealer and get them to sort it out as by now they probably know from experience what is causing it.

I'll probably try a spray of silicone first.

i shift of jazz

Have had a look at new jazz and like what I 've seen, but what about the i shift.I had my civic updated early this year with new soft ware - have asked if there has been a further update,my dealer does'nt know.Although my i shift is much better than originally supplied - it still catches me out by upshifting too quick.
I will have to wait to try jazz(with i shift) when it comes out next year.

Can`t see why. The 2nd generation is good the 3rd even better so the 4th should be even better with the 1.4 engine, don`t knock it till you try it

You now have a more powwerful 1.4 unit being married to the box in a smaller, lighter car.

There will no doubt be revisions in the gearing and up/down shift patterns to sharpen up the performance of the box.

Sept 2008 1.8 es i-shift ,works well ,do not like the fact that when stopping for some time and go to 'N' put hand brake on, in order to start off again the putting of the foot on the brake in order for the gear indicator to stop flashing so you can move of,car behind must think what a dope putting foot on brake and then moving of,ok its to show you have control of the car ,but should not be in car if you have not got control. I think I know what you mean but that is no different to a normal automatic in that when stationary and in drive you would still have your foot on the brake and if in neutral you would have the handbrake on.
I do take it that you realise that you have to have your foot on the brake pedal before you can put the car in auto mode

yes i relize that you have to apply foot brake before going into 'A' or gear mode ,where as with a fully auto box you do not
