1 litre turbo ?

Honda Jazz to get new 1.0-litre turbo petrol power | Auto Express

If they upgrade the CVT then I may be tempted to take a test drive. Probably at least a year away, if at all.

Knew there would be eventually, there has been a big marketing push on the 1.3 ivtec recently, 0% interest. Should be a cracker with this engine.

I would also like to see the 1.5 turbo engine as well to be honest. I have to admit having drove the 1.0 civic I was impressed but you can still feel or hear the imbalance of a 3 pot engine while I would imagine the 1.5 would be silky smooth. Maybe they might do a 1.2 or 1.3 4 pot as well as I doubt the 1.5 will make a Jazz

Well, it's about time for them to 'walk the walk'. They talk about looking to attract younger buyers but have no plans to bring a sporty version in. Could only come from Honda

Looking at the Auto express article, it's dated September last year. Probably Honda's forgotten all about it ! We might be in for a long wait.

I think a Jazz and HRV facelift wil be due in around 12 months and with this you will get new engines etc

I feel Honda have lost their way somewhat. How about a 2 litre Type S or VTi Civic that does everything well? Similar for the Jazz. Not everyone wants a Type R as a daily driver.

When my Civic 2.2 finally does die I really don't know what I'll replace it with from Honda. 5 seats, can tow, big boot, masses of torque and thanks to a remap, plenty of BHP for the road.
Is it true you can't tow with the new models too? Sure I read that somewhere.

Sadly I agree that Honda have lost their way. Not the first manufacturer to do so.

The 10G is not in line with what the 'Civic' has stood for since introduction. A solid, reliable medium size car.

That's exactly how I see the Civic. But was one of the earlier '90's carnations a bit of a sporty looking car (thinking 3 doors and a low/flat stance).

The latest one larger and lower than the 7th/8th/9th gen, comes across as a bit of an ownership challenge for us used to the previous gen. cars.

'Suppose till we test drive/get the 'feel' of the car won't know for sure if it will fit the bill.

Personally am pleased that Honda have invested game changing design cues to the car. I'm sure the 9th gen is a worthy car and I quite likely will end up with one. However, I think Honda actually lost their way a little with this car.

Hope the new car does well bringing a fresh and young image to the Marque.

New Civic is a good car, however it feels so much more grown up than the previous smaller models which had their own smaller platforms coupled with sportiness. I drove my 1,8 mk9 pretty sportily as it inspired you to do this, I find myself driving the mk10 in a much calmer manner as it seems to favour being driven in this manner. To me it's no longer a civic, perhaps more of a cheaper UK accord.

It's lost its mojo.

A 1.5T Sport, Sport plus or Type R can't tow as they have a centre mounted exhaust, so you can't mount a tow bar.
The only 1.5T that can tow is the Prestige. All the 1.0T can tow apart from the S grade.

Yes, I believe this was confirmed at the Frankfurt motor show. The Jazz facelift in the UK will have a choice of a 1.3 litre 5-speed gearbox and a 1.5 litre 6-speed gearbox (along with the usual CVT versions). Apparently deliveries will start in early 2018.

I was also thinking a 1 litre turbo would be a nice option for this car. A family member of mine has the 1.0 litre turbo ecoboost Fiesta and it's quite lively and fun to drive.

i see the new civic as more of a accord replacement
cant understand why they stoped making accords then make the civic almost accord size

I agree. Civicord.

My 9G is perfectly OK but is approaching 5 years old next year. I was considering a 1 series but given Beemer reliability a Jazz is looking likely in a couple of years, pending a test of the CVT box.

The 3rd gen Jazz has almost the same footprint as the 8G Civic !

Was the Accord built on an older platform that didn't fit with the modular way cars tend to be put together now?

Maybe the lines that produced the Accord are to be used for a newer product?

All manufacturer models have grown over the years too with the most obvious example being the Mini. It's just a shame that car parking spaces haven't grown too.
