Civic -v- Jazz

I got my civic back today and the paintwork looks fantastic so far I need to check in different lights but so far so good, which means if I am happy it goes back again in a few weeks for the rest of the panels to be re-done the same way. I am getting a free service and new carpet mats for all the hassle this has caused me

But !! Because of all the problems I have had I have decided that after the car is completely fixed if I have one more problem I am getting rid of it. I want to stay with Honda Ruislip as the service they are giving me is fantastic which brings me to the point of this thread !!

Having driven the Jazz on many ocassions now I actually find it a really nice car to drive, I only do back street driving so for me it makes more sense to have a smaller engine, pay less insurance an tax etc. It has the magic seats which I love on the civic, the boot size is big enough for Ed and Ralph (the dogs) and their is lots of legroom. Also the kids dont feel so claustrophobic in the back of it. I was looking at a Jazz Sport today and its a great car with all the trimmings and much nicer looking at the front than the normal one and I could afford to get a new one.

Am I mad?? I know it doesnt have the looks of the Civic but after all the hassle I have come to the conclusion thats it is just a car and as long as it does what I need does it matter ?

TC, I've driven the 1.4 auto & the Sport. I thought they were excellent. My wife would have the Jazz 1.4 auto like yesterday, if she was asked.

I do like my civic but today when I got back in to it, it felt heavy compared to the Jazz the visibility is poor and the gears are stiff and the radio cut out twice in the first 10 mins of having it back!!

Maybe I have been driving thre Jazz to long and will feel differently in a week or so (just in time for the next time I have a Jazz)

The Sport Jazz comes with everything I need and I have to say I am really tempted lol

Japan good, China not so (at the minute), still a developing country and not so hot at car making, though it remains to be seen if they can turn out a Jazz as solid as the Japanese versions.

Don't doubt the Jazz is a good motor, just not for me.

The All new Jazz comes out in January next year
and will have similarities to the present car
but be far superior in every way

I believe UK bound cars will be made either in Japan or China
(god I sound like a Honda salesman - I must add that I am not )

jazz vs civic

Totally agree . The Jazz is excellent but the Civic really looks the part. At present the uk gets the jazz's built in Japan only but that might change soon as the Jazz's built in China have been supplied to Europe ( mailny Germany ) & are just as reliable as the Jap ones !!

The new jazz will also have a small honda diesel, and like the new clio compared to old will be bigger... I love my Civic mind...

Stick cruise on 74mph (motorway) and I get a healthy 56mpg+ (still eating tyres mind)

Have you thought about the Civic IMA Hybrid; don't know if it's got magic rear seats though. Big savings on RFL as it's only £15 pa. Insurance should be lower as well AND 60 mpg.

Ps: and no congestion charges.

I've just had a though TC
maybe Honda won't want to sell you another
car

I predict that the new jazz will be a hit and have few problems wherever it is built
