insurance quote DOWN 10%

Coo! Just had my quote for my insurance renewal with Aviva for my Civic 1800cc: 237, compared with last year's 265.05. That's a 10% reduction, and it slightly surprised my broker and me. I changed to Aviva last year after my then-insurer wanted to hike my policy by 100 following a deer strike. I've nine years protected NCB and have declared a genuine low mileage of up to 4,000 miles a year. No mods.

Yeah I've just had a renewal quote from GreenLight which is about 10% less than last year. We must be getting old, mate

Say goodbye to 4 of them NCB years if you move to another insurer. Aviva won't confirm NCB years over 5 years , very annoying.

Insurers know of this though. Just for the record, Aviva quoted me 1500 fully comp on a standard 2.2

I went elsewhere and got it for 360

Do they? Chris Knott, my new insurer will only confirm 5 years NCB after only receiving comfirmation of 5 yrs from Aviva.

Aviva also put my renewal up this year by about 50. I got a quote from Chris Knott which was about 100 cheaper and with newly declared lowered suspension and aftermarket wheels.

I go through a broker, so I wonder if he would confirm my nine years' protected NCB?

Yes!

If you have 5yrs NCB after being with aviva for a year, had no accidents . AND you have 9 years NCB with your insurer previous to that, it is easy to prove. Simples.

There was an item on BBC Radio Four news this morning saying that premiums generally were down due to a crackdown on fraudsters and referral fees paid by claims management companies, some of which have gone out of business. (Though not the one that rang me last night saying it had heard that "someone on this telephone number had had an accident in the past three years". I didn't have the patience to delve further, so made a succinct retort and rang off.)
