weird situation

So I currently drive a 2009 civic Type-S, baby of the bunch only a wee 1.4. Decided I wouldn't mind a type-R, you know just because...well its a Type-R. So went insurance hunting. used a general website for Northern Ireland car insurance and got a quote of 1544.42. Then decided to try greenlight as I am now 21, and got refused all together.
I was in a crash in 2011, was said to be my fault, i disputed with a witness but did end up loosing anyway, and it was settled. however have 2 years NCB... just thought this was strange ? any ideas where to try or where to go from here

Some insurance companies won't cover you on a Type R until you're 30, so it's not unusual.

I'm just stating a fact.

Certain insurance companies wouldn't insure me when I was under 30 and I wouldn't consider myself high risk.

Scotti
dont quote me on it,
but im sure i read somewhere that greenlight require a least one year of driving a "high performance" car before they will consider you

I got a quote before last year when I was 20 and he said he could get me it but not beat the quote at the time, and he said ring back next year when i was 21 and had another years no claims and it was working out less than my current one with my standard insurance company...so admiral r giving me it for 1500 but specialist wont touch me now, ive no idea, sucks tho

Try Adrian Flux. Also say it's modified with a cat back exhaust or something as specialists will take you on weirdly.

Yeah Adrian Flux insured me for 350 cheaper with declared mods than without on my Civic VTi lol :P

OP: I dunno about your problems with insurance quotes. I'm 24 and I got quote 480 for a standard FN2 fully comp (went up when i declared all the optional extras).

Maybe its your post code?
