Obviously they never explained it to you properly.

GAP pays the difference between what the insurance company are prepared to give you compared to what you owe.

Smart repair will be so that after your PCP deal ends, you don't get stung for having car park dings etc as you get fined for any damage..

Out of curiosity, do you do more or less than 10k miles a year?

Well on PCP normally after 10k they charge extra... Why I just went for Honda Finance at 2%... At least after 4yr the car's mine but everyone to their own.. I like to be car payment free for a while but if you want a band new one out the packet every 2 - 3 years PCP is the way to go.

As I say everyone to their own, I like to get something 2 - 3 year old where someone else has taken the hit on depreciation and keep it for 5 - 6 year.

I'll probably go for the 10G next as I really like Honda but I'll probably go for a couple of year old 1.6 Diesel as they'll be out by the next time I'll change..

We were offered smart repair, gap and paint treatment with partner's new bmw.

Rejected it, and salesman came back with offer price of 500 which I'm sure included 3 years servicing.

Sounds too good to be true but bmw's are (were) serviced when the car says which after 3 years we triggered 1 service.

About the smart deal, it gave us a certain number of free ding/scratch repairs. We did use it once and it proved very handy.

I was offered GAP on my 8G 2.2 but declined.. He then gave it to us free and took the cost of it off the car so he could still get his commission..
