Arrrrrggh

My Car is ready to pick up Tuesday, but I do not have my insurance documents in hand, I was hoping they would have arrived today. After phoning my insurance company who I took out a policy with on Friday, they sent the documents 2nd class (excuse my French, but *** why? Just to save 10p). Apparently I can't pick up the car with the faxed copy of my insurance certificate.

Probably can't pick up the car now until Wednesday which isn't really a problem in the scheme of things but I for one was feeling like I was eight again today on Xmas eve.

Also I went to see the car at the garage and the 18" Storms look the business.

Ask to use the Honda 7 Day free insurance. It can be done in 10 minutes over the phone and the dealer gets an online authorisation.

Just going to mention the free 7 day insurance, well worth taking and as raineeslover says the dealer can have it e-mailed the same day.

This does involve a 0800 phonecall from you to Honda who will give you an insurance quote, but you kindly decline and ask about the free 7 day insurance, your dealer should give you the reference for the dealer which you then quote to honda and Bob's your uncle!

The above allows the dealer to tax the car and for you to drive away a happy person!

Careful - this could result in a thread about peoples' cat kicking experiences...

My Millie came thro on the free Ins.

'cos my stealer was surprised with the delivery and it caught us both napping.

The Honda Ins allowed me to take the car away ASAP.

The free bit has expired now so now unfortunately I'm paying!

My Insurer changed my Policy on the day of pick-up, no need to take up Honda's 7 day offer, but sounds like it could work for you, no need to lose the Christmas feeling!

My insurance co. were messing about big style on the Friday afternoon I was picking my car up. Dealer encouraged me to go for the Honda drive away cover which was arranged in about 10 mins. Job done. Pretty fortunate really, my insurers phoned me on the way home saying they needed clarification on no claims bonus, and since it was after 5pm they couldn't do anything about it until Monday, therefore New Spaceship, No Insurance! I "mentioned" to the unfortunate young lady that I had telephoned at 9.30 am that morning and arranged the cover for 4pm and that coming back to me after 5pm was just a bit remiss! When I phoned back on the Monday to sort it out, I ended up speaking with the manager who must have heard I was a bit annoyed. No apology, just a more capable sparring partner!
