Hi from Halesowen

Have owned my civic for 2 years now, which means I was one of the first people to get one, and had the pleasure of watching people stop in their tracks and stare, and after all this time the car still makes me smile every time I get in.

Of course I've had some of the usual gremlins, the power steering failed on me a couple of times and the fuel filler cap wouldn't always open. But the efficient dealer has always managed to sort out any problems.

Just about to order one of the stickers, it's worth it just for the information on how to activate the auto locking/unlocking. Thanks.

Welcome Ken!

Glad you are enjoying it despite the problems.
How many miles have you done so far?

Well the problems haven't been that serious and as I said the dealer has always been excellent.

Took it in on Friday to for its 2nd service (20,000 miles to answer your question), it went in a bit early because I had some problems with VSA check system messages and the dealer found there was a stone stuck in the braking system that was causing some false readings.

I'm so glad I paid the extra £500 for 5 years servicing, it's such a pleasure picking up the car and not having to pay anything. Only thing is the front tyres are getting a bit low on tread so a new set will be required soon.

Hi there
Presumably your dealer is Brindley Honda opposite Makro. How do you find them? I bought my car from Colliers (Erdington) but plan to use Brindley as they are more conveniently located for me.

For those asking about Brindley, can't fault them. Had a couple of Honda's worked on by them, and so far so good.

KenP - PM me for a referral of a good tyre dealer not far from Brindley...

Hi KenP, just up the road from myself. Regarding the Brindley dealer in Halesowen, I found them problem free when I went on the few occasions, after I bought my Fr-V off them.....they even agreed to swap (well sort of, I bought the Civic while waiting for it to arrive) one of my alloys due to corrosion without any hassle. Got the Civic from West Brom. Brindley.

Yes you're right it is the dealer opposite Makro.

You ask how I have found them and I have to say I have always been impressed. They were excellant when I first showed an interest in the car and when I took delivery.

As for aftersales service, when I took the car in recently on a Friday after 5pm with a problem with the VSA system they even had a quick look at the car there and then, and while they may not have been able to sort the problem out (they did at the service), at least they were willing to make an effort.

I'll let you know about the tyres which have probably got about 2,000 miles left on them. But I want to investigate the different brands of tyres, anyone got any suggestions?

You sound just the guys to give me advice.

Bought my 59 plate type S GT in May from Colliers and have been dealing with them for a few problems I have had, and a free service that I negotiated in the sale price. Found them to be awful in almost every area, from the way they sepak to you on the receprion desk to their failure to fix a problem first time.

I live in Halesowen and it would be convenient to use Brindley Honda for any future warranty work or servicing. Can I take it that they come recommended.

I can't believe you've dug up my original thread.

I'm my second Civic now and both have come from Brindley Honda in Halesowen which is within walking distance. I've always found them really good, they ring you back when the car is ready or parts arrive and they've always fixed any issues quickly.

They even had a quick look at the car at about 5:20pm when a warning light came on.

We're hardly difficult to spot are we with bright red type R's. The stickers on the back below the spoiler.

I reckon I should be on commission from Brindley Halesowen with the number of times I recommend them on here.
