Newbie - picking up my Civic today!

Hi all. Just thought i'd make my first post as a new member!

Picking up a Black 2007 Type-S GT 2.2 Diesel today and I can't wait! This will be my first Civic and indeed my first time owning a Diesel car as for the last 7 years I've been driving a 2.0 Clio 182

Loved my Clio as it was such a fun little car with great handling and enough power to put a smile on your face - it will be sorely missed! However the time has come get a more grown up car now I've hit the big 30....

just be prepared for plenty of stupid questions about they Civic!! I've obviously done my basic homework about the car before purchasing and I know a few of the important issues (clutch wear etc) but if there's anything else you think I should know then i'm all ears

Oh yeah - I'm from Sunny South Wales too!

Welcome along.

Very good choice car, I've had mine for just over a year now and love it.

Wise choice of car!

My mate has the 182 at the minute and its a fun little car but it drinks petrol like its nothing!

Prepare to get ~40mpg if you drive with a heavy foot or ~50mpg if your sensible (but looking at your last car I can see you getting more around the 40 mark )

I'm only 21 and have a 2008 2.2 in NHB and I love it! So many things to change and upgrade.

Let the modding begin mate and welcome to

I used my 182 as my commuter car too! was getting about 32-33mpg mixture of motorway / town driving. I'm hoping to see upwards of 45mpg from the Civic given the extra gear too. Was really impressed on my test drive at how smooth the power delivery was!! driven a few other diesels and all the power comes in one lump usually then you're out of puff but the civic pulled nicely over a wider rev range.

also the build quality felt A MILLION TIMES BETTER than my Clio but I guess that's not really a surprise! ha
