As per Pottsy's suggestion in the introductory message i've just been sent, I thought I'd say håpla so nobody looks at the members list and thinks I'm a spambot.
is the grand machine on its first day on my drive, with a mere eight miles on the clock, this
is the only cosmetic update I'm ever likely to make, which I did in 2009 (although all the scratches and dings it's getting covered in and a couple of altercations with painfully high kerbs haven't helped), and at the moment it sits on 60,700 miles having given me almost completely pain-free motoring in all that time.
I knew of this forum before, but it's only now I've had to register so I could see the picture in the "How To" section on changing the headlight bulb. I was warned by the dealers it's a mite trickier than the MkII Golf I used to have ten years ago... but I think, with that guide, I'll get through it.
Apart from that, all else that's gone wrong is the plastic trim around the handbrake has broken, and it's held together with gaffer tape for the time being. I'm told I might have to find a whole new handbrake lever to replace it with... and that seems rather excessive.
I doubt I'll be deserting Civic-land before the third digit of the year is a two, so I'll keep an eye on this place if I need to look for any more DIY questions. I've just had a sniff around and found Haynes are working on a manual for the 8th gen Civic... or were doing, two years ago, and it still doesn't exist yet! So, for now, the techies here may be my guides...
