The crashy ride on the civic is normal, lower tyre pressures help but not by much

Tyre pressures my be too high, have you checked them? My Dad has an FN4 and the ride is firm, but not overly crash like a stock FN2. It depends what you're used to.

Don't be tempted to lower your pressures below the manufacturer specification if you have an accident the first thing the police do is check the pressures! If your insurance becomes aware your pressures were to low they could refuse to pay out!

You could always change the tyres for example if you have 40 profile fitted then fitting 45 profile would make the ride softer
