Talking Hi to All - New Member New Type-R GT

Went into my local dealer in Worcester on Thursday - had a go in their Type R-GT demonstrator, loved it, paid for one, picking it up on Monday! This must be the quickest deal I've ever done. The sales guy's over there where really good, very helpfull, not too pushy not that I needed much pushing

Luckily they had a red GT with Sat Nav in stock with standard 18" wheels; their demo had 19"s which IMO ruined the ride...

Can't wait until Monday, counting the hours!

Can anyone in the know give me any advice on the best way to run it in?

Mark

Welcome to the forum.

Many different schools of thought on running in.

I ragged mine out the box although the brakes e.t.c do need bedding in time.

Hi and welcome to civinfo.

I ran mine in for 600 miles. Have a good read of the running in procedure and see what you think.

Welcome

Now that's an interesting one - perhaps you could start a survey 'How long to clinch the deal'

It's amazing how quickly a dealer can turn one around - they're obviously desperate to sell cars these days; had it been mid-week I reckon it'd have taken two days max - got the price I asked for for my part-ex too! - well chuffed

Just can't wait for Monday morning - 'working from home' that day

The Type-R be run in by tea time!

Hey Saggo. If you are getting it from Worcester it must be Startin Honda? The guys there are really good. I got mine from there but had to wait 3 months However the wait was well worth it.

I'm only a few miles from you (near Upton) so if you see a NHB CTR give me a wave. Hardly ever see any FN2 round here.

Welcome to the forum btw

Yes that's right. Guess I was lucky to find one the right colour / spec in stock...will keep my eyes peeled

Thought about a Black one myself but was put off thinking it'd be a pig to keep clean so went for Red - not sure if it's a good decision or not...

You are right NHB does need a lot of cleaning to keep it looking good but nothing beats the shine on a black one when it is clean

I do like the CTR in red - would be my 2nd choice but i tend to keep that quiet

Well roll on Monday for you - bet you can't wait.
Do you work locally?

@JDR - looks like saggo is a paid up member already so he probably will have a sticker very soon

Agree, I've got a Black Merc (until Monday morning) which looks superb when clean but only for about an hour after cleaning it!

Ceratinly can't 35 hours and counting - at least it's not been a long wait for me!

A friend & I run a control systems engineering business; we both work from home, me in Worcestershire and him in Nottinghamshire. I travel all over the place - no problem finding an excuse to go tearing around the country!

Erm Rich you may want to edit that to read saggo. No one who owns a CTR could ever be 'saddo'

The owners of red civics on here tend to go on and on about how they have the best colour etc etc ad infinitum . There is even a Milano group.

so i would never admit publically to liking red and NHB is the fastest colour.....
