Smile Soon to be new owner from Devon

Hi all - firstly though, what an excellent site, loads of info & easy to navigate.

Now, I wonder if this is a first - have been a Landrover (pick up) driver for 20 years & due to a slight change in farming policy was actually looking to change to an SUV, test drove various makes including the CRV, & whilst we were in the showroom was tempted to try the Civic. That was enough!!! Loved it, delivery date next Fri & cant wait. How will it cope with towing a small sheep trailer & the odd deadstock!! I dont care!!! Was totally smitten.

The Landrover was basic - wind up windows - rubber floor - air conditioning?? was just the wind that came in through all the gaps - never locked it either!! ...... Next week, I wont bore you, but its going to take weeks to master all the electrics, great, will just have to spend hours driving it.

Well done and welcome, the diesel will cope I am sure.

If you find you need a little more pulling power you could always get a remap starting at around £250.

Thanks Guys - yep, cant wait, have printed the 'new car' check list out.
As to the towing - am still investigating the livestock trailer issue, with all the (& quite rightly) rules & regs now with towing limits, this is the one area I really do need to get right!! Will give you all an update when I get this sorted - I wonder if this will be a first - a civic pulling a livestock trailer! Just need to get the trailer & contents to under 1500kg!

At least one member - [alanwalne] ? - regularly tows a reasonable size \ weight Caravan ...

So, you should have no problems pulling anything that is inside the permitted weight limit (does the UK have different limits for trailers with and without brakes ?) ...

But - errmmm - the Civic has just a 'tad' less ground clearance than a Landrover - NO farm tracks !!! ...

p.s. - enjoy to the fullest ...
