Hi All

New to this site so hello to all who use it. I have owned a NHB EP3 CTR for the last five years and recently swapped it in for a Silver FN2 CTR GT. Live in the North Kent area. If any other members or meets are near by then let me know.

Hi and welcome to civinfo.

It would be great to hear your views on how the two Type R's compare.

So far the new CTR GT has been a bit of a nightmare - only done 500 miles and the passenger wing mirror has packed up - the dash is creaking and I can relate to the 'crisp packet' dash sounds threads already posted on the site, also the clutch pedal has started to squeak when being pressed and getting annoying when accompanied by the dash!

Considering how my old CTR gave me no problems at all for five years - the new one is not living up to my expectations. Will post back full comparisons when my car has been fully run in so I can give it a proper run, then see how it does against my old faithful, squeak free EP3!

I have spoken to my Honda dealer in Canterbury and they said the plastics may need time to 'bed in' so asked me to put some miles on the car and see if it settles - that problem was from day one with 11 miles on the clock and happened the second I drove it off the forecourt! 500 miles and more intermittent. Dealers are replacing the wing mirror on monday under warranty and will look at dash and clutch pedal then.

Will post back if it all gets sorted! My wife drives the car most as I do lots of miles every week and this gets used as a second car. She feels that the new Honda feels quicker in the low rev range and pulling out of junctions etc. I feel that the sense of speed as been lost a little in the new car as it doesn't feel like I am going as fast as I am. When driving the demo car I thought the back felt twitchy under hard braking compared to the old car. I have not experienced any concerns with the handling and this feels very sharp and assured.

Like I said, when I put enough miles on the car to drive it more 'thoroughly' ( not like a tw*t ) then I post a comparison at a later date.

I do hope they manage to sort the car for you. Rattles are my pet hate too. Luckily the dealer is sorting them.

Fix no. one - turn the stereo up.

fix no. two - earmuffs.

If fix no. two doesnt work, refer to fix no. one.
