Smile Nearly a Civic owner!

Ahoy,

I've been considering buying a Civic for a while, and this week have now nearly got one. I saw it advertised, have spoken to the dealer on the phone yesterday and today, and am just waiting for the weekend where I will hopefully be picking it up (assuming there's nothing majorly wrong with it!).

It's a grey 1.8 ES, and I'm quite excited! Fingers crossed for the weekend for me!

Thanks all, I am indeed very excited! Thanks especially for the checklist, I'll make a note of those things. Supposing there is a problem with one of them, what do I do? Can I buy the car (it's not from a main Honda dealer) and then take it to a Honda garage under the normal 3 year warranty?

If you have a Honda warrranty then speak to Honda, you car wont neccessarily have any problems though, so don't worry unduly.

My car has suffered no major problems, just an annoying rattle or three!

Take the checklist along with you and when the Salesman goes over the car with you, point out anything on the checklist that is not correct and get him to put it right, if he won't or can't then you could ask for something, like money off or a free service etc for your trouble of having to take it to a Honda Dealer to get the problems sorted out.

When I picked up my car the only problem was the Space Saver I asked for was missing but this was rectified without any issue. oh and it rained so my shiny new car was a little dull but that's wasn't the dealers fault. Having said that I've since found out that my car needs some warranty work on it http://www.civinfo.com/forum/bugs-fa...t-recalls.html

I'm sure it will be fine and don't forget the photo's when you get it

That's alright, I actually have the VIN, so was able to check. I am pleased to report that it says, "There is currently no outstanding work required on your vehicle".

it's about 2:30am, so I'll be brief. Thought I'd give you all a quick update... I got the car! Am very happy with it. I checked the checklist, and found my handbrake light doesn't work. Bit annoying, but not a show stopper. I still need to do the alarm test, but thought doing it outside my house at 11:30pm probably wasn't wise. I'll give it a go tomorrow though. Only other problem I've found is the electric folding mirrors, only the drivers side one folds. I assume both sides are meant to. Will take it in to Honda before the warranty expires. Anyway on the whole, a fine chariot. I'm definitely happy with it.
