Another Newbie

Hi, Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Chris, just bought an 07 Civic 2.2 SE TDCI to replace the crappest car i've ever owned (Peugeot 206cc). So far I am loving it. The car has leather interior which is so much nicer than the leather in my old car. My flatmate said I am now nearer 40 than 30 but what does he know, its so much quicker than my old car too which was a surprise as on paper they are both 140bhp. Anyway not sure how much i'll post but I am the sort that reads all the posts.

Welcome to Civinfo!

I am sure it will be an improvement on the Peugeot!

Don´t forget to check out the Wiki section too, maybe starting with the FAQ about this forum.

Nice to get quick responses. I have already had a little look at the wiki, its been useful. I think I'm going to leave car fairly standard, but will add my sub, then an ipod kit. Can't be without the tunes.

Hi and welcome to civinfo.

My wife used to have a 206cc and it was the worst car she has ever owned too. Did yours rattle and creak much?

and the rest... engine tappets went after 6 months (£1500), exhaust manifold rattled (£380), car seat wobbled (£830 to replace whole seat as they couldn't repair), gearbox went and then I just decided enough was enough. It was great the few times the roof was down, but the rest of the time it was a bit cramped and a right dog. Fingers crossed the Civic will restore my faith in cars!

We had a couple of those problems rectified under warranty but not without a fight with Peugeot.

You'll love your civic. Enjoy
