Hi All

Hi All,

2 weeks into running with my new daily ride: 2009 Civic 1.8 ES.
80k on the clock, full Honda dealer SH, metallic grey with cloth interior.
Previously a fast VW and Ford owner: Polo & Lupo GTI's, Golf Cab, Focus ST etc.
Solihull based.

Here to learn more about my car and get some servicing advice.

Few questions to start with:
Chain or cam belt? Think it's chain...do these need changing?
Do I need to change the water pump?
Does anyone have the servicing schedule they can share?
Clutch feels like it's on it's way out - car's on 80k. Is this about right? Quoted 320 to replace (A1 Autocentre, Brum)
Any top tips for keeping the Civic in good running order?

Cheers guys!

Hi
It's chain cam, water pump should be fine unless you know otherwise, the 1.8 petrol is pretty bulletproof.
If you have the service book with stamps then the service schedule is in there.
80k possibly time for a new clutch, depends how it has been treated - try getting the clutch fluid changed first and see if that makes a difference.
Just treat the car with respect, service & maintain it properly and it will go on for a long while yet - you only have to look at the mileage on cars for sale on Autotrader.

No probs.

You might want to look at the service & repair pricing at your local Honda dealer for some stuff.
They do a national fixed price menu for all sorts of jobs, some silly money, some close to indies.
