First Honda

Just picked up a nice 2008 2.2 Civic, a bargain at 1000 and no clutch slip. Relatively good miles aswell at 120k.

I'm new to Honda's, anything I should be aware of or might need looking at?

Cheers.

Clutch

The other main problem encountered with the 2.2 engine is exhaust manifold cracking; Other than that, roof rust on 8Gs - Those are the big ones.

That link is really helpful, thanks. I do have a problem with the air con and that seems to cover it.

Air con is to be expected at the age they are now, though I did make a point of getting one with working aircon when I was shopping.

The civic does suffer with the relay failing if it’s not just a case of needing a re-gassing/leak check.

Welcome to space!

Relay check first, 5 off ebay... if that doesn't resolve, try a regas and they'll check for leaks. If its' the compressor, it's not really worth fixing cost wise

Welcome! if you take the relay and shake it usually a sign it's broken if it rattles.
