Looking to buy

Hi guys,
I’m looking to buy a civic. I’ve always loved them from when a family member had one! I want something with a bit of zip. I’ve been looking at the 2.2 diesel maybe the Type R. I’m a bit of a boy racer. The only thing with the type R is I do a lot of motorway journeys so MPG. Any advice is welcome 👍🏻

The TypeR will only do mid 30s MPG if you do motorway runs at sensible speeds (like 70).
It's a car for fun not fuel economy.
Have seen 40mpg but only on local roads driving behind Captain Slow and unable to overtake.

Thanks guys! I’ll probably end up avoiding that then. Everything seems a bit hit and miss regarding added extras. Some exs have heated seats and Bluetooth some have sat navs and parking sensors. The sport version and the ES have the same specifications. It’s all so confusing.

The TypeS was available in diesel so you could have the best of both - looks like a TypeR but does the diesel bit as well.
nturnb and He_Who_Is_T like this.
