Hi Civinfo members!

Hi all!

Was searching around the web for a few bit of advice and this forum continued to pop up so i thought i would join

Ive got a 2008 2.2 type s gt which has done just under 38,000 miles.

Since owning the civic since Jan 2012 ive loved it, the mpg, the power and the gadgets amongst other thing however, my only concern is that when i put my pedal to the metal so to speak it gets to around 2.5k rpm and then drops down to 2k rpm then goes back up again at the expected rate, it only does it when i put my foot down though. i think i know the answer but do i have the dreaded civic clutch problem?

many thanks in advance

Loving the Car

hey loving the megane gotta say im a big admirer of the renault sport range great looking cars. One question, does the car quality match the price or is it not a problem? as my girlfriend is looking at the renault sport clio and she thinks its a nice car but i havent been in one?

Welcome to the forum mate.
yes it does sound like thats the clutch. Not had it personally but i think thats the main symptom. Will have to wait for someone to confirm though.

sounds like clutch slip its getting to 2.5k because its slipping then going back down to 2k when it stops slipping but it could also be contaminated that would cause this too but either way sounds like the clutch mine does it when my girl friend is driving because she slightly rests her foot on the clutch pedal so she isn't allowed to drive it much anymore :P
