GT cdti questions

Hello guys, sorry if this is in the wrong section. After having an MG ZR 160 for 18 months & realising how poor a car it is, I've decided on a 2007/2008 Civic Gt diesel I got a decent quote on insurance & have seen some for sale at like £7-8k. Can anyone help me with a few questions..

1. How easy is it to make the gt cdti look sporty or similar to the type r?
2. Is a remap worth doing & what gains are to be expected?
3. Is it worth getting the eibach 25mm springs?
4. I heard a few complaints on the net about the clutch going, is this a guaranteed problem?

Any info appreciated. Cheers.

1. How easy is it to make the gt cdti look sporty or similar to the type r? Fairly easy you just need to source the bits which means either patience or cash!
2. Is a remap worth doing & what gains are to be expected? Yes. Stage 1 will get you from the 138 bhp stock to 195 bhp with an increase in torque that I can't recall at this second. Be prepared to fork out for a replacement clutch though.
3. Is it worth getting the eibach 25mm springs? IMO, yes.
4. I heard a few complaints on the net about the clutch going, is this a guaranteed problem? Yes. But *when* is a different question! Some go on the standard maps very early, some don't. Some remaps eat the clutch, some have survived. It's a bit of a gamble I'm afraid. Looking at £1k for a replacement paddle clutch and DMF all fitted.

Any info appreciated. Cheers.
