Another new user here, I am a 23 year old living in Aberdeen.
Just over a month ago I bought a black 57 plate 2.2 i-CTDi type S 3dr Civic that had done 62k miles. This is not only my first Honda but my first car!! So far I am still in love with it and long may that last.
I have just picked up and fitted some plastic covers over the bolts on the windscreen wipers (the car didn’t come with these) I also bought some mats which are in place but not properly fitted. On the drivers side there is a metal bracket in a T shape with two pins that stick up, I assumed this was to fit the carpets over (but considered the pins too long for the job) but now I have picked the mats up from a Honda dealer and the way it is fitted is completely different (the holes are in the corner of the mats and are clipped into the floor). Can anyone give me advice about this?
As I have never had a car before I am a little nervous about maintaining it myself but I am practically minded and keen to do the simple checks myself. I guess the checks are very easy to do just need a bit of reassurance/confidence.
Things I am considering in future include repainting the brake callipers (they are looking a little scruffy), reverse parking sensors (as if I bump it I will probably cry) and an iPod connection (or aux input).
