new lads who needs a few pointers!!

hi all, my name is martin and im 20 years old. after thinking long and hard about this ive decided to sell my 1.8 rover metro and move to the jap scene!
im looking at a long term build/project that will be done once and done properly.
this is where you lads come in
i would like to buy a civic and bring it to a very resepctable car, along with the help of a b16/b18.
what id like to know is what would be the best basis to start with?
im pretty mechanically minded doing 2 engine conversions on previous cars, but is this out my league? also what engine is the best bet?
money isnt really a problem as i said it will be a long(ish) term project.
but i cant do what some people have done and chuck 6k into a k series - swap lol

i would be extremely appreciative of any help anyone is able to give me! thank you very much guys and look out for a project thread in the near future!!

martin

Hmmm - I'd say an 8th. Gen. 1.8 (R18 engine) - a pre facelift model - Type S GT (3-door) or an EX (5-door), as they come "loaded"

Hmmm - not a bad idea - cheap buy and conversion, but the maintenance / etc. costs are going to be high

Hi Martin and welcome to the forum.
