My last install in EP3 by a respective specialist who has done loads of Type Rs. He recommended all the products in my last and current upgrade.
Doors panels removed, as you can see stock insulation appears quite bare to say the least.
Now with 6 sheets of sound deadening on each door panel
To maintains stealth look, amp and focal bus 25 under seats
Cabling tucked away nicley by Dalco
Door panel now ready to accomodate Apline speakers
Speakers with MDF spacers and diffusers
Crossover mounted on door panel
Will get tweeter pics up in the next couple of day.
SOund system is 10 times better and the underseat sub adds the little warmth to the sound, so I highly recommended the additional expense. IMO even with amped front components - this is no substitute for the lower sounds. ie I turned the Focal Bus 25 right down and turned up the volume of HU to see what bass would kick out of the amped speakers. IMO though the sound clarity was crystal clear - there was still not enough bass...... IMO I would have regretted not adding the sub in.
Tweeters make a big difference in respect of the higher sounds, amp makes a huge!!!! difference in respect of clarity of sound.
Sound deadening helps keeps all the sound in my car rather than filter out..... Door just now seems so much more solid. A mod in its own right IMO.
I am sure the other mods such as Speaker cabling, diffusers , RCA power is all adding the sound quality in its own right.
The moisture guard is purley to stop it getting damp from rain/or when washing the car and the water creeps in.
Dalco showed me the stock speaker and it looked pretty 'lame' to say the least. (I am sure people have already posted various threads on this) Additionally the speaker was little damp, so therefore the mositure guard purley prevents this. Quite honestly I was not going to skimp on £15 at this stage.
Overall - Loving the upgrade.
