Connects2 fascia serious fitting problem :/

I installed my double din today and have a big problem. Not sure if it's something I've overlooked as I was losing day light when putting the car back together but my fascia doesn't clip in anywhere at the bottom. I can actually lift the whole unit up and there's loads of play in it :/ is there a clip or screw to fix the fascia from underneath like with the factory unit as now everything I go over a speed bump the stereo will probably try and jump out the dash as it's only secured by the 3 screws at the top and nothing on the bottom !!

There's must be something obvious I'm missing here. Surely it shouldn't be like this.

Any input would be great

Have you cut the bottom left clip off the dash?

I had to cut the dash on the lower left as I've seen in the how to's to get it to fit in. I'm wondering if I've maybe cut too much away is that the only fixing point on the bottom ? The bottom left ? Is there not one in the middle or on the right ? As my stereo isn't secured along the bottom at all

Doh !! I feel a right tit. You know what I've done... I've not taken the clips off my old fascia and put them on the new one !! What a nob lol

Ordered my cameras from mr bozo. His shipment was late but it should've still been here by today. Hope it comes this week as I'd like to get it all done and dusted

I would guess Hong Kong, it's not unusual to wait a month for stuff to arrive.

There should be three clips at the bottom, a horizontal one in the middle, a vertical one on the right, and another vertical one slightly to the left of the middle one.

Did you remember to move across the metal parts of the clips from the original fascia?

Edit: just seen your new posts, as I thought, the clips weren't transferred

Where did you put the USB lead on your install? Will the unit pick up album art from folders on the USB stick?

When connected via bluetooth, do you get album art by that method?

I cut a small hole in the back of the centre compartment whilst if was out of the car as I never use that pocket for anything so now all I do is plug in my USB/phone etc and put it in the centre pocket and close the old and it all looks nice and neat having a USB on the back of the HU was a must for me as I can stand wires poking out my dash anywhere lol

I've never had album art as I download songs off the net which don't come with album art. I'll download one on the App Store though with album are and see if it comes up on the screen and I'll let you know

A good free way would be to download mp3tag. Just navigate to your music directory, highlight your album, select tag source then click cover art then you simply need to tell it which album it is, nice and easy. Will write all the necessary info over to your files.

Hello mate. I forgot about this so I just downloaded a song with album art to my phone and plugged it in and it came up on the display.

Hope this helps

When you say you plugged it in, did you buy the leads after all or are you hooked up via blutooth>

I didn't buy the leads mate no. That's just the phone plugged in via USB with a charger cable. When I plug my phone in to the USB it recognises it as an iPod on the HU so as well as charging It gives me access to all my music folders.

If you put a load of music on the USB, how is the layout (navigation wise)? Can you navigate by artist and album name?

Yes mate you can search the USB for artist, song, album, genre. You can also search by alphabetical order. Basically you can navigate your way around the USB to find what you want lol
