Aux in Device and Steering Wheel control

Hi,

Which Aux In Device will work with the streering wheel controls in my 07 EX? I am looking to get one fitted, and from what I've read - not all the devices work with these controls.

Also, will any Aux In Device show track names on screen? (If I play music from my iPhone for example)

Many thanks

AFAIK, no standard Aux In will allow steering wheel controls (as there's no communication from the head unit to the device). Units that allow you to connect via iPhone connectors etc will permit control via the steering wheel controls.

Do you know of any devices which could have both aux-in and iPhone connectors? That way I could use the Aux-In in certain situations whilst mainly connecting my iPhone so I can change tracks etc,

Thanks

I'm trying to decide for myself whether to get this or just an Aux In unit.

i had sound issues when i bought the new Xcarlink, sent it back and got a replacement, which was just the same, so i got a full refund and bought the honda ipod connector from usa ebay, sound quality is spot on

the down side it doesn't have aux connection, which is fine as i only connect my iphone to it
plus it was only 45

Thanks for that. It seems the ipod xcarlink is slightly cheaper than the normal xcarlink - both have Aux-In. Seems strange.

Just seen the optional bluetooth module for 40 too, would this be much trouble to fit? I'm not bothered about the Hands free as I use the standard Honda HFT, but streaming music I wouldnt mind.

The reason it's a difference in price is that the standard one supports SD cards and USB sticks whereas the iPod one only supports i-devices (with the exception of both having aux-in).
The device that has all of the features is more expensive still.

40 for music streaming is a bit much IMO... for me on the rare occasion I might use it I would just plug in the aux cable!

Looking at the unit it's just plug and play.

Good question. I had a 'fumble' in the compartment forward of the gear stick. It felt like the cable could be routed where the door retracts, somewhere near top front? Would save having make holes in the trim.

Anyone know where to get the Y cable from? I know xcarlink sell it for 15 plus postage, but was hoping to get it cheaper. Didn't see any on ebay (searched for Honda Civic Y cable)

Hi, sorry if this is off topic, but could you have a multi changer and a aux/usb connected to the stereo at the same time?

Not sure. The AUX/USB connectors work by emulating a CD changer, so that the head unit thinks it's talking to a changer but the unit translates that to your device.

As such I'm going to go with "no", but I don't have a definitive answer.
