Exclamation Sony Walkman MP3 !?

Hi All!

I know there is a post on here re.the Sony MP3 from 9-10 months a go, but I can't find anything since.

Has anyone found a way of using one without the buying some box that transmits it to a radio frequency (not sure if I would be happy with the sound quality)?

I have spoken to Honda who say there is nothing available (am waiting on a reply re.future plans) and should speak to Halfords or Sony (both of whom were equally useless). Why are Honda happily endorsing the 'American' solution and not there own Japanese version (granted there are more I-Pod's sold but the Sony is the biggest rival). Anyway rant over, any solutions??

A connects2 box will do it for you, it gives an input that will plug into the ear socket on your Sony MP3 player.

I have a Connects2 box connected to my Peugeot 307, there are 2 connectors on the box, the first connects to the DVD changer socket on the back of the head unit, the other connector is a set of standard Red & White phono jacks. A cable plugs into this and goes to the headphones socket on my iPod.

It doesn't give me any way to remotely control the iPod or charge it, but it's a lot better quality than an FM transmitter.

Use the 'Search' function and look for Aux In or connects2, also look at the Wiki here.... Connecting an MP3 player - Civinfo Wiki

Thanks guys. I will take great pleasure in printing this off and taking it to my local Honda dealer and telling them it can be done. I guess I need one of those Looms as I have the Sat Nav. Not to keen on the work around.

Who would be best to install something like this, my dealer or an audio specialist? (not brimming with confidence with my local dealer right now).

Give it a go yourself, take your time and follow the dash removal instructions on here- it's looks daunting, but it's not that hard really! It has the added benefit of knowing that the person taking your car apart will treat it with care and you will save some pennies!
