MDF Spacers for Speakers?

I'm thinking of replacing my FN2's stock speakers..

Do I need MDF spacers? What depth size do I need? Can I just buy any type of spacer as long as it is for 6.5" speakers?

Thanks guys.

I used plastic Astra adaptor rings like many others on here. They're about a tenner.

Hi I replaced the stock speakers in my FN2 Sport, and used these, it meant I didn't have to do any drilling (They are a bit expensive!)

Replacement speakers usually have a few mounting options so you might find some that match up.
