replacing standard sat nav with after market stereo

Hi, I have read numerous threads on here about problems with changing the Honda sat nav system. I am in he same boat, I plan to do a smallish install with upgraded components and sub and would like to fit my Pioneer double din stereo to run it from.
I have the connects2 kit and as most have said get a scrambled climate control screen. My first question is has anyone tried to replace the panel with the 2 screens (sat nav screen and small climate display) for the panel with the one large climate display? If so does it work fine?
I'm not worried about loosing the sat nav as don't use it anyway.

Yes it has been done numerous times successfully. If going down the double don route then you have to replace the sat nav screen with the standard screen.

Thanks anfield786, looks like I need to buy a standard climate display then although I've got another sat nav unit on its way to me so may look in to modifying it to see if I can keep the working sat nav and fit my double din pioneer unit.

Pam, sounds like an issue with constant live power going to the display unit, have you checked all the connections are secure, i.e. No loose wires?

Im selling the 06 EX shortly, and will have both a perfectly working standard display from an 09 and a decent 07 stereo top cover (yes you do have to replace this too!) available if you are interested.

think the only way of keeping the satnav is to keep the original stereo stick it in the glovebox out of the way..

Totally impractical as you have to still control the satnav system from the stereo!

Its either double-din satnav or use external satnav (smartphone garmin tomtom)
