Best Place in Dash for Telephone Mic

Hi,
this is my first post. I picked up a 12 plate 1.8 I-vtec civic last night. I'm looking to install the Sony XAV-AX100

however, I need some advice...

Where is the best place to put a Telephone mic. I was thinking on the dash. on the opposite side to the green eco button.

I was thinking maybe I could get a hold of another one of those blanking plates, add the microphone to this (with a bit of modification) and replace the existing blanking plate.

any ideas on the part number for the plastic piece? or any better places to put the mic?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to

OEM mic's are usually up in the roof area, embedded in the courtesy light. Can you run yours up to the top of the windscreen?

I ran the mic for my Parrot Kit up the A pillar cover and it sits at the top of that.

Mine sits at the very back of the steering wheel/ edge of the dash facing straight at me, seems to work okay
