Will these 6.5" components fit in a type S GT?

I've tried to get quotes from 3 installers, 2 have said theyd do it no problem, the 3rd a rarther experienced chap said NO, and if i did, id be wasting money cos they wouldnt sound right.

I checked out the Wiki but still couldnt be absolutely sure. I dont want to shoe horn the speakers in, cos theyre rarther expensive, so preferred a good fit and with adequate clearance after for a good SQ. Could some tell me definitively?

Have a look at the wiki . There are pictures of the speaker location with a tape measure to show all the various measurements.

The clearance to watch is the one with the window wound down - see picture 10.
