Lightbulb Blue LED strips on FN2.

Hi all,

I got Osram Nightbreaker (H11) Fog light bulbs & 501 LED Super Bright "White" side lights yesterday. During fitting I also installed two LED strips I already had. I fixed them to switch on with the LED side lights, so as to act as daytime running lights. The Mugen grill badge was also installed at the same time.

The 501 Super Bright "White" LED sight lights are rather bluish though, but at least they match the strips.

My first though was that they look , what do you think?

Cheers

BEFORE (ugly yellow):

AFTER (More pleasing blue/white):

JUST SIDE LIGHTS ON:

The H7's are also Osram Nightbreakers.

Glad you like!
They are from Virtual Village Pack of 2 30cm 15 LED Car Headlight Strips Light for Audi R8 S6 : Virtual Village - US
They are also supposed to be white, but when they arrived they were blue.

I wanted to fit them inside the headlight unit, but decided it was way too much work, plus now I can easily remove them if I want to.

Yip, they are Audi wannabe lights, upside down to hide during the day and for easy of installation.

Appreciate the comments.

Like the LEDs, I think they look very mean where you've put them. Be careful though I think the police can pull you over if they think they and the side light look too blue.

Have a fetish for two lights under the car (red of course) running under the sides. Has anyone gotten that done?

Not really, the only tricky bit was joining the wires to the sidelights, but this would have been simple if I had those splicing clips thingies.

Thanks for the honest comments. I thought I'd just try them out, seeing as I had the bumper off to change my fogs anyway.

I like it a lot!!!
I have also considered putting some LED stripes on the car but i dont have the know how to install them on the light circuit so they come on as you put on the lights.
Defenetaly an improvement over the standard lights asswell, good job!!
Some daytime pics with the LEDS on by any chance?

Hi Woette,
I connected the LED wires to where the side-light wires, meet the connection, of the side-light bulb holder. That way when the side-lights are on, so are the LED's. I might still wire them up differently in future so that they can be put on or off independently of the other lights. It's not very difficult to wire up though, this was my first time doing anything like this. You've got to just try and then learn as you go along.
For example, always switch the lights off when working with them, or you could blow a fuse.

I still think it'd look better if the LED's were whiter and not so blue, especially at night time. At least my dipped, mains and fogs are a more pleasing colour now than the yellow standard bulbs.

@FAT4U - It's definitely something you distinctly like or dislike. I get loads of glances from passers by, and judging from their reactions, its mostly out of intrigue rather than disgust. I just like the fact that my civic is unique to me, as that's the point of modding, right?

Here are 2 daytime pics as requested.
(Couldn't be bothered hiding my plates, waste of time, just like this parenthesis )

Interesting looking...

...any chance of getting pictures on how you..
  1. Removed parts of the car required to get to the points of electrical connection & LED mounting?
  2. Where you connected the wiring?
  3. How you mounted the lights?
I wonder if you can get a strip of LEDs which are enclosed to give a continuous strip of light as opposed to points of lights? Might be a better look...but that's a matter of test.

All a matter of taste but your mod is certainly tasty...would like to see a picture by picture recipe for it
