Brake bulb query

Hi Folks one of my brake bulbs has blown and the only spare I had is 21W.

The handbook states the brake bulbs are 5W so I have ordered the correct ones.

Should I take out the 21W in the meantime or is it ok until the right ones come?

Thanks

Presumably you are talking about on of the main stop light bulbs?
Are you sure it says 5W? Stop lights are generally 21W otherwise they would be no brighter than the tail lights.
I suggest you have another read of the handbook as I will be gobsmacked in your stop lights are not 21W

Ditto the above; IME I Can't think of a single 5w automotive bulb socket that would take a 21w bulb - Let alone the very true point above re. brightness.

If it looks the same on both sides, and it fits in the hole, I think you've got the correct bulb already

It’s the lights that come on when the brake pedal is pushed in the handbook says 5W for ‘stop lights’ so I’m confused now lol

Perhaps I have misread the handbook here? Oops

With the stop light being 21W.
I'm certain the locating pins are offset on a 21/5W bulb so that you can't get it in the wrong way round.

Manual is written in American "English", translations below:

Stop = Brake
Back up = Reversing
Position = Side
Turn signal = Indicators
Licence plate = number plate

Not that I'm being a little Englander or anything.

Trunk = Boot
Hood = Bonnet
Tire = Tyre

Must be loads more. Shame the Americans don't use the same English like wot we do.
