Admiral multi-car - does it build up NCD?

I didn't need a car for a few years so just drove the wife's car. When I needed my own car again I was told my No Claims Discount had 'expired' because I hadn't had my own insurance for so long.

So, we insured it through Admiral multi-car, with the wife being the main person. We've been with them a few years now.

Although I'm not the main policy holder, would I be building up a No Claims Discount with them ... I suspect not but thought I' ask anyway.

If it's multicar you each have you own insurance policy I think, my girlfriend kept hers when she left admiral
The OP said he was on his wife's policy, so not the main driver.

But as a named driver this bit is relevant and bears out what I said above:

"Can a named driver on my policy earn their own No Claims Bonus?
Yes, they can build up their own No Claims Bonus to use on another Admiral policy..."

only usable on another Admiral policy.

Yeah I read that bit, only thing he can do is ring then, i know it's off topic but I got a quote from you for gap insurance, how soon do I need to take it before my insurance won't pay the invoice price for the car

Assuming it's the online Combination GAP cover you're referring to, you need to take the cover within 90 days of purchase of the vehicle. If it's a brand new car your motor insurance will probably replace your car new-for-old up to 12 months. After that they will only pay market value.
