I didn't need a car for a few years so just drove the wife's car. When I needed my own car again I was told my No Claims Discount had 'expired' because I hadn't had my own insurance for so long.
So, we insured it through Admiral multi-car, with the wife being the main person. We've been with them a few years now.
Although I'm not the main policy holder, would I be building up a No Claims Discount with them ... I suspect not but thought I' ask anyway.
I believe that it is the main policy holder only that builds up the no claims, so I don't think you will be mate. Need to get your own policy with them but still claim the multi car thing as they are both part of the same family.
You might find that the 'bonus' is only valid with Admiral as the industry standard is that you only build up bonus on cover in your own name. Best to check.
Yeah I read that bit, only thing he can do is ring then, i know it's off topic but I got a quote from you for gap insurance, how soon do I need to take it before my insurance won't pay the invoice price for the car
Assuming it's the online Combination GAP cover you're referring to, you need to take the cover within 90 days of purchase of the vehicle. If it's a brand new car your motor insurance will probably replace your car new-for-old up to 12 months. After that they will only pay market value.
