There is car alarm available from Defa. I installed it beginning of the year. Works fine. The car alarm should be CAN-BUS model, otherwise I can only wish you good luck. I install car alarms as other electrical stuff for living.
Is that electrical installer code for "you'll have no end of grief if it's not"? :D

I know that Cargard T70C-0 alarms have been installed in Civics.
You can use the original key-sender thingy but I don´t think they interface at all with the existing alarm, it is an additional installation.

www.cargard.se (in Swedish only, sorry)

well yes and no!.....in my one opinion it's go to have this one in car with factory one.....because factory doesn't have many options like this one and in my civic factory doesn't protect inside and doesn't go off if you try to hit it on hood....while my previous car reacted to that.....I tried the factoy alarm and only went on when I locked myslef in car and try to move steering wheel!.....so that isn't very good protection.....

but as they say: "It's better to solve the problem before it becomes problem" and you never know when will you need it.....Lock down after you forget to lock car sometimes doesn't work....once happened to me and car was left on parking lot unlocked over night!.....(I thought I have locked it. but I was wrong and didn't lock it self automaticlly that time....and thank to anybody who didn't try to open it)!!!
