18's or 19's?

What does everyone prefer?

Standard 18" rims or the upgraded 19" rage ones?

Personally I like the 18's, look better, cheaper rubber and easier to refurb!

I can't make my mind up. Sometimes I look at the rages and think they look better than standard then other times I look at the rages I think they look too thin and boney and make the car look like a show pony rather than a drivers car. i think it depends on the angle you view them from tbh. I must admit I'm not a fan of black wheels either. Some with a polished lip look ok on the right car but they are generally not my thing. If you want black wheels just don't clean then IMO. I love nothing better than cleaning my wheels and the clean bright silver contrasting against the shiny red paint. That's not a dig at anyone with black wheels btw. We all like different things and have different ideas of what looks good.

went from 17" to 18" to 19".

18" are the best all rounder with ride comfort and cheaper Tyre choices but 19" look good only downfall is you feel everything on the road but still handles well

Standard 18" rims gets my vote just for allround performance over looks. But the rages are nice but anything that makes the car handle worse and more uncomfortable isn't really an upgrade in my eyes.

But Stevegreethams' old car looks sweet one of the few CW with white Rages

Ive heard 18's make it handle better and having not driven a car on 18's as ive 19's cant compare .i dont have a problem with the cars handling on 19's but to honest its down to the driver !! For me the rages look awesome especially in white on a cw car . But being a m200 owner i dont think you can beat a 19 lightning ! I wonder how good a lightning would look in white on a m200 or cw ?

Rages weigh less than OEM 18"... just saying.

What I can say is that when on a spirited drive down country roads... it does feel like its beating the hell out of you and making steering not so easy to control. but I am willing to sacrafice this for the looks :)

no one said they weighed more than OEM 18's ? they weigh a ton in general ! i still reckon after market all the way, and i think the rages look good but there are a lot better looking wheels given the choice :worms:

I've had 17s 18s and 19s. The difference between the 17s and 18s were not really noticeable. The 19s are a little stiffer but no were near as bad as people say. Had eagle f1s on the 18s and 19s and handling wise it's marginable as best. I think the only way you will kerb up the rages is if you are a pretty bad driver or unlucky, I've went through pop holes, spirited drives and have yet to scrape them off anything.
