This morning when I went to unlock my car, the button didn't work, I thought maybe the battery was dead or because it ruddy freezing this morning it weren't 'awake' yet, so I went to use the key in the lock, but that set the alarm off, that's not normal right. Surely using the key shouldn't set the alarm off...

Think the battery might be gone?

I think if you press the lock button twice, then try to unlock the car with the key in the door, the alarm will go off.

Can't remember exactly what it says in the manual though.

Does the red LED on the key light up when you press a button?

Did it again this morning, won't work for a bit, crazy alarm stuff, then suddenly working again. When it does work the light led light goes off, but not when it's not working. So does that mean dead battery, and how much does it cost to fit a new one, and can I do it myself?

Sounds like either a dead battery, or a bad connection in the key somewhere.

It's easily replaced yourself. I can't remember the cell number off the top of my head though.

You just remove the single screw from your key, pull the back off, then remove the insides, then unclip the black plastic and there is the battery you need to replace.
