Hi there

Just wondering what voice commands you use most of the time, I have been trying to learn them but there are just too many to take in!

Currently I use:

"travel home"
"what time is it" (because I remember it and purely for fun)
"Display map"
"Radio FM1 Preset2" (bit annoying this one because I only ever use 6 radio presets, annoying that I have to say "FM1" all the time)

and obviously the HFT

What do other ppl use?

Don't use mine at all I find it a bit of waste of time, you always have to repeat the command and it hardly gets it right at that :( Did it one day to impress the kids and it made a right fool of me ( but that wasn't hard ) ;)

"What's the time tart" :D (It obviously uses key words)
"CD Play" (when TA kicks in when there is no traffic reports, thanks Heart106.2)
"Call Home" (stuck in traffic = burnt dinner)
"Go Home" (missed traffic by taking a diversion and I'm now lost)

My car seems to have a problem understanding the english language unless I shout loudly at it.... but most of the voice commands I use are directed at other road users as they seem to see my car as something to drive at,swerve towards or can't seem to see it at all.

two sets of buttons at approx 7 as you look at the steering wheel. Two buttons set back from the first two, click the higher of the two and talk.

All covered in the Sat Nav handbook and vehicle guide in the bookpack too.

Or, just look at the pic Stella posted as I was writing this out....

This has been quite useful! - having had my EX for a week I'm still learning........ got my phone paired OK, can do basic sat nav - can't do way points yet!! - and will do mic foam fix before try shouting at car again as when I tried it didn't understand and I gave up......

Pity we can't do 'beam me up Scotty' or, rather 'beam me to....' sorry.... couldn't resist...

The thing I use it for is to read the menu item I want from the Sat Nav Screen saves faffing about with the dial when driving.....they all work and if you are on a list screen just say the number off the list

I tried "what time is it?" today and was pleasantly surprised it understood me.

I've also found that it responds very well to yelled (if accidental) commands normally aimed at other less "civcalised" motorists on the road - for example, yelling "get of the ****ing road" with embellishments, whilst simultaneouly knocking the voice button seems always to respond with a fairly accurate summation of the intelligence level of the driver being yelled at - "I don't understand that command".

I have yet to explore the more exotic options available to voice - like getting the radio to change back to Capital after the missus has driven the thing and put that Radio Asbo on (again), not put the seat back, put the rear view mirror in lipstick application position, and I'm going on - sorry!

I wonder if there is an "Eject noisy child/Eject nagging wife" command........hmmmm......I'd only have to turn round and get them again though...

I like the comments about "fire missile one" etc - and "beam me up" would be good - I rather fancy one which goes "Clear M25" too - now that *would* be the Power of Dreams!
