Exhaust decibel rating

Evening all.

In the next few months I plan on installing a new exhaust. I'm looking for my exhaust to be loud but still sound nice at the same time. So far I have narrowed it down to the following...

Js 60 rs
Martelius
Tegiwa -with silencer removed.

Now I know the 60rs has a WOT decibel rating of 93 and the Martelius will be closer to the 100. Has anyone got a Tegiwa exhaust with the silencer removed? If so can you comment on the sound? And decibel rating? I would really prefer my car to be more aggressive all the way through the revs and gears.

Thanks!
MarBras.

I got non res milltek and love it. I had a milltek previously on my ST170 and magnex on Fiesta ST150 milltek on FN2 is deffinatelly loudest one. Sond is also very good - on cold is raspy rally type of noise, then it deeper when hot but only on low revs and neutral throttle - soon as you put your foot down it becomes nice and raspy but still with some deep tone to it. It is really nice. Some say it's quiet, but i really don't understand this - maybe it's age :)
If you didn't hear one i strongly suggest you have a go in a car with one.

P.S
None of the videos on YT actually give a good idea of how it really sounds...
Best one is this IMHO

Thanks for the replies lads.

I did also consider the milltek, however I was under the impression they were quite quiet, I'm looking for something deep toned, loud and anti social (childish I know).

The milltek does sound decent to be fair. Specially in your video DPG and i know youtube never does these vids any justice at all. I completely forgot bout TDI's 3 inch cat back as well which could well be an option.

I'll stick the milltek on my list also and try find somebody close with one to get a listen. Must admit that the added tips you can get for the milltek do look superb sticking out the triangles.

One thing with milltek - and it's only my subjective opinion from inside the car - it's loud as feck up to vtec, most around 3-5k and then... seems to get quieter. This is on other hand good when on motorway as @70-80 on 6th gear is really good for sport exhaust (stiff standard suspension gets on my nerves more than exhaust on motorways), but slightly dissapointing when you trying to be antisocial (still good in town when you don't get to vtec very often buahahah). From what i researched - as initially i was wanting Martelius - they are good, but not on motorways annd not for early commuting. And i do both of those hence my choice.

Thanks frog.
I don't do any motorway commuting as I live just under 3 miles from my work. Which is also helpful for early starts as I normally leave at 8.30 so shouldn't wake too many folk up haha.

The milltek sounds good if it's loud through the low revs! I have a hks rsk installed just now. Maybe that would change the tone in vtec to be a bit more aggressive.

Think the only reason I wanted the js 60 rs was for jdm points with being js haha.
Thinking between the milltek and martelius tbh now!

Ah yeah I forgot you had a milltek Al
Ill give you a shout when I've next got time off mate to see if you are free!
I'll be doing some meets next year also so will be good to meet a few folk.

Bridge should be open today isn't it?! You'll be connected back to the world again haha!

See with HKS RSK i'm in dilema now... i like my milltek, but i'm affraid that RSK will scream over it and i won't hear milltek too much. Not sure about this, but if bigal is close then listen to his milltek and this should help you to make up your mind. But from what you saying i will be probbably thinking more about Martelius. And since they are making exhausts for rally cars this should give you some swag as well :D

Not mine but this will give you an idea of what the martelius sounds like.

I work shifts so leave for work at 5.30am and no one has complained yet....

Now that is exactly what I'm after!
Sounds nice and deep in the low revs and nice and performancey when in vtec!! Thanks for the video mate.

I must admit I love the roar it makes! Specially in the lower gears when giving it some boot!
I know what you mean about it taking over the tone of the exhaust.

I'll defo be giving Al a wee visit in the new year. Then I'll decide between the milltek and martelius.

Haha! Rally swag does sound enticing!
Exhaust dilemmas... such first world problems! ;)

Awwww I wish haha. Christmas has made me skint till the new year.
However it should be purchased end of January :D

The group N rally cat back is apparently 120 odd decibels haha.

Thanks Sam.
I had been thinking of a full custom system being made. Martelius has won me over though haha.

I'd still be keen to hear in the new year Al. Good chance to meet people off the forum as well so definitely keen. Who knows... maybe I'll be turning up with a louder car ;)
