Hey guys, been lurking arround for two months and this is my first post.

What is the current price in pounds of the Type R CW in the UK? I would be interested in importing one, but the wheel being on the right side could be an impediment. Also, seeing that the dealers only get 2 cars can be another issue. Maybe NH Dan can see if a CW designed for the rest of Europe can be ordered from Swindon. Will be much appreciated.

Sorry for being off topic.

On topic, besides the plastic being improved and the USB reading device, I also think it's the same stuff under the hood and inside.

I found this from the Paris motor show press pack:

CHAMPIONSHIP WHITE CIVIC TYPE R
The crowning glory in the Civic range is a long-awaited, higher specification Type R GT in Championship White.

Fans of the ‘Red H’ have been eager to get a Civic Type R in white since the latest body shape was introduced in 2007 and now their calls have been answered. This car will be available to order from the end of the year with all models built at Honda’s manufacturing plant in Swindon.

As well as the distinctive Championship White paint finish that evokes memories of Honda’s first F1 car in 1963, this Type R gets 18” white alloy wheels, a contrasting smoke chrome finish on the badges, door handles, fuel lid and front grille and exclusive Type R plaque.

And there’s more. The powerful 2.0 litre i-VTEC engine, which produces 200PS at a spine tingling 8000rpm is now mated with a Limited Slip Differential that sharpens the car’s handling and driving dynamics even further. Around our test track in Tsukaba, Japan, the ‘white hot’ Type R shaves 1.44 seconds off the standard car’s time.

Civic type r gt 2009YM

Picked up yesterday...HID lights, usb/ipod connector, red footwell illumination, passenger seat memory, tyre monitoring all standard fit
Tyre monitoring... does that mean you have run flat tyres? Or can fit them if you want them? Or is it just a nice little extra safety feature?

i think the system detects small variations due to air loss on all 4 tyres and give a warning or something and can work with any kind of tyres.

other systems use mini transmiters attached to the rims and you can see in a display the exact tyre pressure of each and this is the best.

Alex.

sorry guys for my english!!

HID lights, usb/ipod connector, and seat memory all standard fit on 09s. :D Haven't looked for the deflation warning system or red footwell illumination yet!

HIDs, USB, DWS, and footwell lights are standard on UK r-GTs now. I've still not checked the memory seats yet on mine, so there's no guarantee. No mention of them in the manual anyway!

:) that was sort of why I was asking: If it's blue or CW then it's 09. If it's silver, red or black it could be either. If it's bronze it's 08. (E&OE)

I'm lead to believe it's not tyre pressure monitoring. It's probably taken from the ABS tacho feed from each wheel. if one wheel goes round faster than the rest (deflated so a smaller radius) it set's it off. I must read the manual!

Ok..... managed to get some time to go round the car

Spec is....... HID headlights with washers, usb/ipod connector, updated interior plastics and grille surround, led brake light bar, tyre pressure monitoring system

It does have red footwell illumination, but it is only one small led and it comes on dim only with the side/headlights. It does not come on brightly when you unlock the car, which i thought it would have.

Neither of the seats have memory function.

Can anyone out there with an 09 GT please check the footwell illumination operation and check and clarify the spec of their cars. I'm starting to think these 09's are coming out with different specs.

The dealer doesn't know. I find this amusing. If Honda are going to update the spec of the car then they should send out some info to the dealers first with every uprated spec on it.
