Camry vs Accord is the classic US car war, so it's intresting to see that Toyota have identified a market for their eqivalent of an Accord / insight in the UK.
The problem is that "Saloon" cars are on the decline in the UK. People want SUV's/Compact SUV's so that can feel like that are driving Range Rovers. And while PCP deals make this possible people will shun Full size saloon cars. Im assuming this is why Honda binned the Accord too. Dont understand why Toyota binned the Avensis it seemed like a good quality car. The Camry used to be a top seller in the US of A, so maybe they think bringing back the name will boost sales.
if there was a newer accord I think id have gone for another rather than buying my 9g civic
iv had 3 other civics and 2 accords over the years
my last accord was a good car but only1850 engine so was a bit under powered and thirsty at 28 to 32 mpg
when I switched to the 8g 2.2 the fuel price was high so the civic doing around 60 mpg paid for its self in fuel saving
the latest accords were nice cars just I wanted something newer so went for 9g
We have a CRV SUV, and the only reason we had that was cause the Mrs is short, n wants a higher driving view/position. If it was for her requirement, we'd have an estate or hatchback car for its practicality.
