How can a 10 year old car bought 3 weeks ago with immaculate paint work all of a sudden start to get stone chips? its not like i'm ragging it about. I know the paint is soft but for f**k sake.
I bought an FN2 that I thought had pretty clean paintwork, but then all the shine and polish comes off after time and you get the true colours. [emoji23]
I go with what someone else said earlier - the polish containing fillers can mask a lot when you're looking over a car. At least with one that already has chips you don't notice the new ones, unlike with a brand new car where every new chip stands out a mile!
I've used Chipex on my Cayman with good results. The colour match (white) was spot on, and the ability to blend the touch up paint to the surrounding original paint works well - not 100% but much better than a cheap touch up pen or the dealer stuff. I'll be getting some for the CTR when the summer comes.
(If you go to their website, don't make an immediate purchase - browse to the exact paint you need, then go to leave the site. I noticed in he past that they then offer you a discount code to entice you to buy it then and there!)
With the state of the roads in general,I don't think there is much chance of any car not having stonechips regardless of the make of car.
A good valeter or detailing firm might be able to help with them.
