A couple of days ago, i drove from my home in Northumberland down to South Wales for the New Year, some 360 miles, the dashboard outdoor temperature reading varied from 0 to about 4°c throughout the journey, but when i got back in the car this morning, it said it was 46°c outside and then rose to 55°c over the next hours drive, i've been out and few more times and its still that high, any ideas anyone? It definitely isn't that hot in Wales!

I've attached a picture of the dashboard but its from my phone so not great quality.

Perhaps it's just wishful thinking on your Civics's behalf :)

Mine started reading high last week. Been to the stealer's today for a new one, which amazingly they had in stock.
They apparently change 20 in the second quarter this year but haven't changed one since, hence they had some in stock.
Just got to build enthusiasm to pull the front end off.

I'm thinking that I may be able to get at it by just removing the grille/splitter instead of taking the whole bumper off, anybody any thoughts?

Hi Leodis,
I removed my bumper. You can only remove the grille after removing the bumper first. Grille is clipsed on the inside of the bumper (upper part) and the clip needs to be pushed down. On the second picture you see the clip (a bit black because of rainwater).
I wouldn't risk pulling at the grill. Not worth trying. Risk for damage is to high.

It's also time to say "must read post properly before replying".......
I know you are trying to help but you will see that I said "instead of removing the front bumper".
All I am asking is there an alternative, i.e. just removing the chin spoiler?

I'll give it a few more days, i guess the dealers won't be open until the 4th anyway, hopefully it'll fix itself to save me the hassle! :)
