I'd be up for it, not really bothered where, but not in a city or town, somewhere with some decent driving roads.
Funnily enough I've been thinking of a run/meet heading down into the Scottish Borders as we've not had a run down there yet and may even encourage some of the Newcastle/North East England members to attend.
Other than that Glencoe, Aviemore or Glenshee are good jaunts that we've had in the past..... BBQ/picnic sounds good but would we get the weather?
The route from Blairgowrie to Kinross is a good "drivers" road, the rest I personally wouldn't bother with as there are too many straights, main trunk routes and just too busy to enjoy a wee blast.
A better route, now that the weather is getting a bit better is the one we did in December.
Kinross (KY13 7NQ) -> A977 Rumbling Bridge -> B934 Dunning -> B8062 towards Crieff turning off up Highlandsman Loan to A85 and Gilmerton -> A822/A826 Aberfeldy -> B846 Tummel Bridge -> B8019 Pitlochry -> A924 Bridge of Cally -> A93 Blairgowrie -> A923 Dunkeld -> A9 Perth (Broxden Roundabout)
Should hopefully be no black ice squeaky arse moments at this time of year.
Alternatively a wee run up the A93 through Glenshee to Ballater and meet up with TangotypeS and Ashkeenon and then a blast through the Cairngorms to Aviemore as we did last July, only this time I'm not driving behind Ashkeenon as he chucks up huge boulders onto your bonnet .
how about my local pub in bonchester good food big car park and cheap beer
its called the horse and hound
the roads round here a really well used by bikers last weekend the pub was full with about 35 bikers
how long a run do you think we could always start in jedburgh to give a few more miles and still good roads i ll adjust the map and then tell me what you think
That sounds ideal, guys coming from the north or west could meet at Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh and travel down the bypass to Sheriffhall roundabout then take the A7 via Galashiels to Jedburgh as this looks a better road than the A68 to Jedburgh.
Let's get a couple of suggestions for a date sorted and then post up with times etc once we have settled on a date.
I suggest Sunday 16th May so it gives us 3 weeks to get this together and Sunday's are generally quieter.
may 16 may not be the best as it may be the common riding but i will check when i get to the pub in a bit but if so the roads round here will be hell and i will be up on the mere off my face drunk with the boys
Too far for me lads sorry hope you'd enjoy your day
