Running your car in the UK means you need to have Insurance, MOT and Road Tax.

MOT is roughly 30 to 50 per year, and yearly road tax rates can be seen here:

Obviously your insurance costs depends on several factors so I can't comment.

I suppose it depends on where you live as well.

There are some cities that have what we call 'congestion charges' which basically discourages high traffic from city or town centres. In plain English it means you have to pay to drive on some roads, costs can be as high as 6 a day.

You may also need to consider resident parking permits if you decide to move to some particular cities, yes extortionate I know but again in plain English it means you have to pay for a special label to park your car outside or near your house if you do not have a garage or driveway.

Yes I heard, will be moving in London, heard just in center is that congestion tax.
Checked insuance with more sites..gave such different results, one was from 1200gbp and the other was from 3000gbp.
Thanks again.

LE: I think the 1200gbp was a site error
