Scotland - Perthshire Run Sunday 13th Dec

Anyone interested in a wee jaunt around Perthshire countryside?

Some great A and B roads to blast along, and shouldn't be held up by convoys of caravans this time of year

Approx 133 miles and 3 hours driving taking it easy.

Route:

Meet at Kinross Services, Sunday 13th December 2009 10:00am.

Kinross (KY13 7NQ) -> Rumbling Bridge -> Dunning -> Gilmerton -> Aberfeldy -> Tummel Bridge -> Pitlochry -> Bridge of Cally -> Blairgowrie -> Dunkeld -> Perth.

Perthshire Run Dec 13th 2009 - Google Maps

No work that day, check

No football that day, check

This is very tempting I know some of these wee roads and they can be fun, I quite skint at the moment but I might just scrape by a tank of petrol for this wee run

Count me in

Put me down as a maybe at the moment - weekends are rapidly filling up between now and Christmas, but I really have no excuse since it's so local!

Would've fancied this but my work Christmas party is the night before so don't think I'll be in any sort of shape for driving the next day.

Good call though.

Sorry I canny make it.

We'll maybe see you at the next run then Kenny.

A Knockhill meet sounds good but I think I would just spectate as knowing my luck I would be a wee bit over eager and end up stuffing it into the tyres.

Was this the route you meant ? (Google Maps screenshot, but using the routing provided by my TomTom)

Conscious that we might be using different Satnav's and could end up getting seperated if we follow different routes

A is Kinross Services
K is Perth

B to C & C to D seem to give the most opportunity for different routes

This may make the route a bit more clearer.

Kinross (KY13 7NQ) -> A977 Rumbling Bridge -> B934 Dunning -> B8062 towards Crieff turning off up Highlandsman Loan to A85 and Gilmerton -> A822/A826 Aberfeldy -> B846 Tummel Bridge -> B8019 Pitlochry -> A924 Bridge of Cally -> A93 Blairgowrie -> A923 Dunkeld -> A9 Perth (Broxden Roundabout)

Just remembered I have a night out the night before, so hope I am a fit state come sunday morning

Just a wee thought, rumbling bridge is nothing exciting to see perhaps if we cut off the a977 @ Naemoor Road just a bit before theres a wee excellent road there, and if your lucky you might see some camels in the field as you pass

This road then takes you onto the a823 but is a bit more scenic

That detour sounds okay, just don't have too many beers on Saturday night.

I think on saturday night I will be mainly on irn bru, playstation 3 has died today so the cash for a replacement is needed more than the drink

Unless of course some nice random ladies try and get me drunk!!!
