National Civinfo Meet?

Now Im not sure if this is possible but has a national meet ever taken place or even been discussed?

Getting everyone together could only be a good thing and would certainly look impressive.

I imagine the best place to hold it would be the midlands somewhere? Or maybe a bit further north so the Scottish lads & lasses would join in the fun

It could be a world record for a forum maybe. Not sure where i'm going with this but all those civics in one place would be impressive.

I'd be well up for it though I imagine that the venue would have to be massive. Though not a single model I've previously been to the Renault World series events at Donnington and Silverstone. Perhaps Honda could arrange something similar when they change the style of the current Civic to a 12 Volt toy car. If it was to happen from this forum then people would have to be prepared to pay. Big car companies have big money and can give tickets away just for marketing and on the hope that you will stay with the brand.

perhaps we could do it on a soltice or equinox ?
maybe a national holiday ?
Most of the problem is date time work commitments etc.

I find it strange that you haven't pulled this off already. Googling distances in the UK you have about 1100 km from one end to the other, so a meet in the middle would mean max 1000 km drive for anyone. Fully doable in less then a day with your road infrastructure. Are people just lazy or what? Some of us did 1400-1800 km drives for the Scandinavian meet

Honda are organising a Honda Civic Type-R meet for the Silverstone BTCC (20th Aug) round to commemorate the last Civic Type-R's being built for the UK if I remember correctly. There's a special car park area and a parade lap of all attending cars.

Just a thought I want to throw into the conversation.

Ideal meeting place would be the Midlands, but we need somewhere large.

Well, the NEC has 20,000 car parking spaces - would that do for a starting point??

Agreed - if we could find a day when they didn't have any huge exhibitions on though you never know. But then I think there is always something on at the NEC...

I read in one magazine that an Almera owners club held a national meet at Christmas in a Hotel and had loads of people turn up.

And the RSOC seems to have loads of national days
