Auto up/down feature on drivers side window

Hi all

iv finally got my new set of drivers windows switches and it works a treat, but i have 1 minor problem with it the auto up/down function does not work no more. I read the manual to the car and it says i have to reprogram it as i may of reset the power window system when i removed the drivers window fuse. I followed the instuction in the manual to reprogram it but still no joy.
I was wondering if i should disconnect the battery and then try reprogram the window again. If i do disconnect the battery will i lose any data off the cars computer such as mileage and mpg etc?
Also i think my new switches came from an pre 2004 civic as the circuit board looks slightly different and the buttons are grey and not silver like my old ones (my cars a facelift 2005)

All Help is appreciated
