Ep3 timing chain

Hi i have a ep3 civic that rattles in morning and the cars getting near 90k miles I've had mixed reviews about what to change do I need to change the chain and tensioner or chain tensioner and guides as I think this is a better ideal also what about sprockets do they need changing as wasn't gonna change them need advice what's everyone else done on theres guilds chain and tensioner is all I was gonna chain and leave the oil pump chain and sprockets

Most of the times the chain stretch is the problem. When you change the chain you also change the tensioner as in most cases it is damaged. You can get a whole kit with chain guides for around 250gbp, maybe even less.
The rattling noise could also be the intake cam gear (VTC gear).

On the EP3 engine, is it possible to diagnose a stretched timing chain(or a loose one if the tensioner has given up) by taking the cam cover off and looking at it that way? I'd rather see what state mine is in before sanctioning a replacement.

At least then all I'd have to buy is a new gasket and some hondabond.
