Red face 3 Stage V-Tec possible on Older Type R's?

Hi guys, New here so do of course apologize if this has been asked before. Is it possible to replace the 1 Stage VTEC that my 2001 Civic Type R has with the 3 Stage VTEC that the 8th Gen Type R's has? The dealer told me with some modding it is possible.
